The sale was a big success due to the hard work of members and their families. The theme of the conference was the Rissho Ankoku and Odaimoku Kechi'en (Transmission of Odaimoku Brings Peace to Society and Happiness to All). The church bell was rung 108 times at midnight and members chanting to the rising sun on New Year's Day. Mochi is a kind of Japanese rice cake that is traditionally eaten at New Years.
