NICHIREN SHONIN'S WORDS

Those who practice Buddhism should never fail to feel grateful for the four favors received from parents, people, sovereign and the Buddha.

"Shion Sho"

HELLO!

Here is our June 2006 Newsletter. I think that June is the best month in Hawaii, not too hot and not too cold. What do you think? Here are this month's announcements.

THE SEISHOKO MATSURI AND SENSHI-E SERVICE ON JUNE 11

"Senshi-e", which literally means "a service for previous Nichiren ministers", is a memorial service for the deceased Bishops and associate ministers of the Nichiren Mission of Hawaii. This service is also for Sendatsu. Sendatsu, who although unordained, are treated as ministers after their deaths. The deceased Bishops are : Gyoun Takagi, Chosei Nunome, Kempo Kinuya, Benko Sueto, Koin Watanabe, Ejun Ikoma, Kanryu Mochizuki, Ryushin Okihara, Kanjitsu Iijima and Senchu Murano.
