I have been studying many sutras; However, I was the most delighted to
discover the Lotus Sutra which is the most supreme teaching among the sutras.

Here are some announcements below.
FUJINKAI MEETING ON AUGUST 6
Fujinkai Meeting will be held on Sunday August 6 at 9:00 a.m.
DIRECTORS' MEETING ON AUGUST 13
A directors' meeting will be held on Sunday, August 13 following the
Combined service.
NO SUNDAY SCHOOL MEETING IN AUGUST
Sunday School Meeting for August has been canceled.
REV. NAGAYOSHI HAS COME
Rev. Junsei Nagayoshi has come to our temple on July 11th in order to
be trained as an official overseas minister. He was born in Fukuoka and is 29 years old.
We all hope he will have a fruitful training during next four month.
THE 1ST RAINBOW WORKSHOP
The 1st Rainbow Workshop will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2006
from 9:30 am at Nichiren Mission of Hawaii. This one day Workshop is for members to study
basic Nichiren Buddhism and etiquette. It will be sponsored by Headquarters of Hawaii
Nichiren Missions and the Steering Committee in association with the Nichiren Buddhist
International Center. For more information, please read the enclosed application. Deadline
is Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006. We hope many of you will apply.
THE 2006 JAPAN TOUR
We have organized a Japan tour. We will go to Kyoto, Minobu, Tokyo and
Chiba from October 26 through November 3, 2006. The cost is about $ 2,500.00 per person.
$50.00 more for neighbor island members. Please take a look at information about the tour
enclosed in June's newsletter. For more details, please feel free to ask the ministers.
NOTICE FROM FUJINKAI
The ladies of Nichiren Fujinkai will once again participate in the City
& County Mayor's Fair on Saturday, November 18, 2006. We are requesting your help and
donations of handmade craft items, baked goods, patch work, small plants, and pickled
items. Due to the Board of Health restrictions, bentos and sushi will not be sold. Please
see Mrs. Aoki with any questions.
VISITATION INFORMATION
The ministers are planning to continue their visits to the Liliha
Health Care Center and the Island Nursing Home on the third Tuesday of every month. We are
looking for members who wish to accompany the ministers to visit nursing homes. The
residents of the nursing homes are so happy to see many visitors so, please see the
ministers if you wish to do so.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES
The annual membership dues are $10.00 per month or $120.00 per year.
Our Temple is maintained by your membership fee so we would appreciate your kokua in this
matter. Thank you.
REMINDER
Since the registers and calendars for appointments and scheduling of
services are maintained in the office, FOR ALL NON-EMERGENCY CASES, you are encouraged to
call 595-3517 during our office hours from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Calls to the office will help
us to serve you more efficiently. Thank you. |
