On the way to Hitachi hot spa from Mt. Minobu to recover his health, Nichiren Shonin's condition became worse. He rested at Munenaka Ikegami's residence but could no longer continue his trip. On the morning of October 13, 1282 at 08:00 a.m. Nichiren Shonin ended his long life of spreading the Lotus Sutra for 61 years. Oeshiki is held to pay our respect to our founder.
