The 14th resident Minister of the Nichiren Buddhist Temple of Portland is Reverend Ryuken Akahoshi. He was previously minister of this Temple from 1986 to 2002. He took a position with the Nichiren Buddhist International Center (NBIC) in Hayward California for 4 years. He returned to Portland in December of 2006 to take over the Temple from his disciple Rev. Ryuoh Faulconer who would be moving to Boston MA.
