Welcome

Welcome to the Nichiren Buddhist International Center's homepage. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the teachings of Sakyamuni Buddha. Our founder, Nichiren Shonin, sought to find the true teaching of the Buddha. After much searching, Nichiren Shonin discovered that the Buddha's most consummate teachings were preserved in the Lotus Sutra. Once he found the Lotus Sutra, Nichiren Shonin devoted his entire life to studying, practicing, and transmitting the teachings of the Lotus Sutra. Our Nichiren Order strives to continue in this tradition.

Nichiren Shonin lived and taught in Japan during the 13th century, where and when there was much strife and insecurity. Though it seems that we have come a long way to improve our lives, many of our problems and challenges have not vastly improved in this modern age. Whether one is in Japan or in any other part of the world, we are still faced with issues, personal and not, that limit us from pursuing a life of real peace and happiness. We believe that the teachings of the Buddha are still relevant and applicable in helping us achieve better understanding for ourselves as well as our interactions with others around us, to ultimately create and maintain a more harmonious world.

The NBIC is dedicated to achieving these goals by gathering, teaching, and preserving the Buddha's wisdom, in the pursuit of truth and righteousness. We aspire to create teaching materials in Buddhism, disseminate the Buddha's teachings, and actively engage in our community, to achieve mutual understanding and sustain goodwill and cooperation between all sentient beings in our world.

We are wholly dependent on the donations of our supporters. If you would like to walk with the NBIC to continue in its quest to help all men, wherever they may be, please consider making a donation to the NBIC by clicking on the button below. Thank you for spending your valuable time with us.
